A gentleman called Bert Spurdle of Winsham Band, a village near Chard, Somerset.

Have you played any other brass instrument?
Yes, Eb Bass, Euphonium, Baritone.

Do you have any other hobbies?
Yes.  I play skittles, enjoy walking and following football.

Do you play any other musical instrument?
No, unfortunately not.

Which other bands have you played with?
Started with Winsham Coronation and then Chard Concert.

Have there been any special moments for you with Phoenix?
Yes.  Qualification for the National Finals in 1998 & 1999.

What does the support of our 'Friends of Phoenix' mean to you?
Its nice to know that the Band has supporters who take a keen interest in and enjoy our playing.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I have played in a Brass Band since the age of 10 or 11 and I enjoy the comradeship it brings, and the people involved.  The experiences shared both the "high" and "lows" are something I will always value.
