Break a Leg!

While the “ True and Grown Up “ musicians in the Band went to listen to the best bands in the World at the National Brass Band Championships 2010 in the Royal Albert Hall, our New Conductor was out playing with MotoX Bikes. He says that he didn’t see this massive tree jump out at him along with the log that was just in front of it and, smack!. One broken leg, one damaged Bike and tongue pie when he eventually got to Hospital, as that was where his Wife was on duty at the time he was admitted. I must say that he had no commitment as he had to miss the next rehearsal, which was just 2 days after his accident because he had the excuse that he was still in Hospital and the Doctor had locked the doors. What sort of excuse is that?. Luckily Paul Slator agreed to Conduct us and did a great job. Thanks Paul.

It wasn’t long before Dave was itching ( literally ) to get back to band which he did a week after his accident. Although in much pain and with the help of his Wife driving him to and from Band, he managed a full rehearsal and 2 sectionals on the same night. We all appreciate what you are doing for the Band Dave and hope you have a speed recovery. What a Plank!........You slipped on.

This is the second incident Dave has had since he has been with us, which hasn’t been long but it feels a lot longer, as we now call him Diesel Dave as I think it was the 3rd week after he joined us, put Diesel in his Petrol Car. Again what a Plank!.For our forthcoming Contest at Torquay in November Diesel Dave will need to use his crutches to get on stage. The Band just hope he doesn’t Conduct with them, as they will hurt on his down beat I am sure.

Released On 9th Oct 2010
