Band Social a Success

On Friday night (25th March) members of the band and their partners descended onto the Crown and Victoria pub in Tintinhull for our annual band social. This evening gives the band a chance to thank all those who put a lot of work into running and organising the band, and also allows partners to get together with us all.

The pub was a great venue, with our party nicely tucked away in our own area in their conservatory. I wonder if they thought we'd be bringing our instruments, as we were tucked away from the other diners ... Perhaps they'd heard us play somewhere before.

The food was must have been good, as the chatter soon quietened down as we all tucked in. Thanks to everyone at the Crown and Victoria for providing a lovely evening and meal for the band.

The evening gave our MD, Dave Hatton, a chance to say a few words to the band after his first year with us. Dave thanked the players for their hard work throughout the year, pointing out our good results at Exmouth, and the SWBBA contests. Dave also thanked the committee for their backing, in particular Lynda (band secretary) for her hard work in organising us alll.

Chris, our band chairman, gave a few words in which he thanked Dave for his hard work, Dave's wife for her support this past year (most notably when she chaffeured Dave to and from band when he broke his leg) and also the remainder of the committee for their support.
