Lyme Regis Seafront

A brass band and the seaside, is there anything nicer? The band certainly didnt think so as we made the most of the break in the relentless rain and set up on the seafront at Lyme Regis.

Under the baton of our MD David Boorer our first set commenced with the March Army of the Nile. The set continued with favourites You’ll Never Walk Alone, Whiter Shade of Pale and Bohemian Rhapsody. It included a solo feature, Go the Distance, wonderfully played by Jasmine Pavey and a new arrangement of "I do like to be beside the seaside" by our resident arranger Graham Robinson which was very well recieved!

After the band stocked up on fish and chips, ice cream and a warming cup of tea, they commenced the second half with traditional favourites The Floral Dance and 76 Trombones. The programme slowed with Prelude from the 49th Parallel and Moon River before a rousing rendition of The Liberty Bell from Sousa. The 2nd half concluded with Abba Goes Brass.

A wonderful day was had by all and we look forward to returning in September.
